Summer 2018 Schedule
Pre-ballet is for ages 6 & 7, is based more on ballet principles, but still emphasizes the “fun” aspects of dance.
Ballet 1 is for ages 8 and up with no dance experience or for age 7 with previous dance training. Beginning ballet technique includes barre, center, and traveling exercises.
Ballet 2 - 9 is placed by ability. Each level increases strength, ease of movement, and knowledge of ballet vocabulary.
Teen/Adult Ballet is for dancers 12 and up with little or no ballet training who would like to start or resume ballet class, but do not want to be with younger dancers.
Boy’s Ballet is a separate ballet class for boys age 7 & up. This class is sponsored through arts grants, so there is no charge for boys who take this class.
Pointe 1 is for dancers who have completed ballet through level 5 and have passed a pointe assessment.
Pointe 2 - 4 follow Pointe 1 as dancers improve skills and are placed by ability.
Partnering is for advanced male dancers and female dancers at level Pointe 4 and higher. Dancers in this class develop classical ballet partnering skills.
DanceFUN(damentals) 1, 2, 3 & 4 is for ages 3, 4, 5, and 6, respectively. It provides an excellent foundation for the study of all forms of dance.
Jazz/Tap Combo class is for ages 3 - 6 who would like to try those dance disciplines in a shorter format.
Jazz 1 is for dancers with no previous Jazz experience. Dancers should be at least 6 years old to sign up.
Jazz 2 - 5 follow Jazz 1. Dancers are placed by ability.
Beginning Tap 1 is for dancers with no previous Tap experience. Dancers should be at least 6 years old to sign up.
Beginning Tap 2, Intermediate Tap & Advanced Tap are offered sequentially after the completion of Beginning Tap 1 based on ability.
Modern 1 is for ages 8 & up with no experience or for age 7 if coming from DanceFun 4 or other creative movement programs.
Modern 2 - 5 are based on ability as dancers learn more complex ways to interpret music and express ideas.
Beginning Hip Hop is for ages 8 & up with no previous Hip Hop experience.
Advanced Hip Hop is for dancers of any age who have already mastered Hip Hop basics.
Pilates is strongly encouraged for all Company dancers to build strength and prevent injuries, but the class is open for all dancers that are interested. An exercise mat is required for this class.
Adult Pilates is also available. This class is very popular with mothers of dancers. An exercise mat is required for this class.
